24" x 36" oil on canvas
The Bombardier Skidoo depicted is an early vintage model from the late 1950's, hand-made and with a Wisconsin two cylinder, 7.5 horsepower motor! In the cold temperatures of the Arctic, the engine frequently had to be started by pouring naptha gas directly into the cylinders. The track required daily repairs but in its time the Skidoo was a valuable asset in transporting men and hauling equipment over the frozen tundra.
